She escapes from 1956 to the sixth century to guard a fragment of the Spear of Destiny, which she used to create the court of Camelot. Sofia the First (2012), features numerous references to Merlin, who is idolized by the character of Cedric the Sorcerer. He later appears in the episode “Gone With the Wand” where he is depicted in his traditional Disney design and voiced by Jeff Bennett.
